energy crisis we face right now. Do your bit starting today and

we all can do our bit at and around our homes to help to green
our planet. One of the things you can do for a go green earth
is to save power in your home. Here are some tips to help
you:
Light Bulbs: By using CFL light bulbs you
not only help to save power at home, but you'll also save
money. These light bulbs have been designed to outlast
conventional, energy churning light bulbs while using a lot
less green house gases in the process. By spending a little
more money today you can cut your energy bill in months to
come.
Computer: If you are leaving your computer
running day and night for convenience reasons think again.
Failing to switch off your monitor after shutting down the
computer will still use up precious power. Contribute by
switching them off, at home, and at work. If you don't use the
computer, put it to sleep or even better, switch it off.
TV: The same goes for your television. You
wouldn't believe how much power is being used by your
television over the span of a year if you consistently leave it
running in stand-by mode. Learn to turn the TV off when not it
is not use to save power at home. This is a green energy tips
that doesn't require much extra effort.
Air Conditioner: Many air conditioner
manufacturers recommend specific settings depending on the
season for your machine. Setting the air con too high in winter
(as a heater) or too low in winter is not recommended. You will
waste valuable power resources and not achieve much anyway. It
is far better to invest into some nice looking blinds or
curtains to block out the cold or the sun. Over time this will
certainly help you to save power at home since air conditioners
are renowned for chewing huge amounts of electricity.
Washing Machines: Instead of suing
pre-cycle washes and hot water try to wash your clothes with
cold water only. By using cold water specific washing powder
you'll get most of your grime out anyway and you'd be surprised
how much power this will save of your electricity bill.
Car: If you drive an air conditioned
equipped car, pull up the windows before switching it on.
Refrigerator: A good way to save power in
your home is to bring hot food to room temperatures before
placing it in your refrigerator. Another green energy tip
is to make sure your thermostat isn't set at the coldest
setting. Leave it as high as low as you can before the food is
getting too hot.
The easiest way to save power at home with
our green energy tips is to always create your own renewable
sources of energy such as wind power or solar power. If you are interested
